Graphic design and activism in the last 100 years
Bojan Hadžihalilović, creative director of Fabrika, will guide us through small time machine of activism in graphic design, at the Play media Day 03 event. He will analyze icons that have marked the past, but as well make a historical review of visual graphic design icons in social – political propaganda over the last 100 years.
How can designer think about the time in which he lives, learn how no to be misused, to distinguish good from bad, to explore how to express his creativity when there is no contractor, rather than just your personal need to speak out! In short, ask yourself: How to be a designer in these challenging times?!
20 years ago, Bojan Hadžihalilović was one of the founders of Design Studio TRIO Sarajevo. Initially, the Studio was involved in recordings, newspapers, theater and film posters, book design. After the war, the Group founded the Agency Fabrika – Sarajevo, which deals with design, computer graphics, TV animations, TV commercials and marketing communications. Work of Trio Group and Agency Fabrika were published in the following journals: Graphis, Print, How, Step News, Newsweek, The Face, Creative Review, Art Press, “Print”, “Flash Art”, kao i u publikacijama “Anatomija dizajna”, “Inovativne promocije na poslu”, “Dizajn nestanka”, “Grafička agitacija II”, Zlo ne živi ovde, “Politički posteri u centralnoj i istočnoj Evropi 45-95”, “Bound les Borders”.
Bojan Hadžihalilović is teaching visual communication and he is head of the Graphic Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.
