Play Media Day delighted

the regional and local audience

The communication event Play Media Day 04 was held on June 7 and brought together about 1,000 local and regional visitors. Representatives of the media, companies, creative agencies, institutions, as well as numerous students, did not cover the enthusiasm of a rich program of events. 18 lectures and 4 panels were held in three conference halls filled with participants.

The program of this year’s event was made up of about 40 international and national experts who shared their knowledge, examples of good practice, advice and trends in the field of communications, media, new technologies, creative economy, design, public relations, marketing, gaming industry and entrepreneurship.
Quality education, networking and establishing new business cooperation this year were an inevitable part of the event. In addition to conference rooms, already well known as Uranus, Merkur and Jupiter, CineBar within CineStar, was dedicated to creating contacts, friendships and new business stories. Numerous interactive zones in pauses between lectures and panels, completed the atmosphere for the visitors. The luckiest visitors have won many gifts and prizes.

From Jack Murray (MediaHQ, Ireland) we learned why storytelling is important in public relations, and how to best tell someone’s story in the best way. He agreed with Eva Zahrawi Ruiz (brand and marketing director, the Netherlands) who noted that we all need to tell a good story, and that outdoor marketing is a past. How to connect with consumers through an integrated story, we learned from Vladimir Mitrovic and Marko Marjanovic from Ovation BBDO – “Integrated approach is crucial in the battle for consumer attention”.
This year’s Play Media Day 04 was all about new technologies and digital transformation. “Do we have the choice of people in the world of digital transformation? “As conscious beings at the individual level, we have the possibility of choosing, but also the responsibility to be a human being in the world of robots – super-human”, said Larisa Halilović, an education expert. Milos Trkulja, Strategic Development Advisor, says that the transition of digital transformation is so great that we do not know how it will look in a couple of years, with the conclusion that digital transformation is the only winner of marketing.

Igor Grmusa, the country manager of the Degordian Serbia agency, spoke about new marketing technologies, while Danijel Subotić (ASW Engineering) and Dominik Šafarić (Styria.AI) focused on the challenges and breadth of machine learning. What is important to remember – Machine learning “will not destroy the world”!

The panels, as always, have attracted the most attention. What did we conclude from interesting discussions? Balkan agencies can counter the world trends, with the remark that the distinction between digital and traditional agencies is being erased. “Influenser” becomes job, which besides all advantages, also carries with it great responsibility. Podcast is a medium of the future and definitely a new channel of communication for advertisers.

Daniel Ackermann, founder of the Degordian agency, reminded us that love for work is the most important, and that priority should always be learning, not earnings.
Naturally, topics about PR, design, culture and the creative industry were inevitable.
The Play Team agency, who organized the event, showed this year that the crew from agency is an excellent host and once again succeeded in positioning Banja Luka on the map of the creative industry of the region. Numerous guests visited the city on Vrbas for the first time, and took the opportunity to extend their stay on the upcoming weekend in order to visit the tourist and cultural destinations of Banja Luka and its surroundings. Play Media Day has once again proved to be a fantastic mix of education, networking and entertainment.
